Introduction

Millo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS and watchOS mobile application (the "App").

Information We Collect

Millo is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect any personal information. Optionally, with your explicit consent, we collect anonymous usage and crash data to improve the app.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device:

• Recipes: Recipe names, ingredients, preparation steps, cooking times, servings, and tags
• Meal Plans: Your planned meals and associated dates
• Shopping Lists: Your generated shopping lists and purchase status
• Preferences: Your app settings, category sorting preferences, and tutorial completion status
• Pro Membership Status: Information about your feature access level
• Fidelity Cards: Loyalty card names, card numbers, barcode data, barcode format, and display colour
• Analytics Consent: Your choice about whether to share anonymous usage data

Anonymous Analytics Data (Optional, Consent-Based)

Only if you explicitly accept when prompted, the App collects anonymous usage events such as:

• Feature interactions (e.g., recipe created, meal added, shopping list generated)
• Screens visited within the app
• Settings changes

This data contains no personal information, no recipe content, and no identifiable data. You can change your preference at any time in the app's Settings.

iCloud Sync

If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data (recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists) will be synchronised across your devices using Apple's iCloud service. This data is:

• Encrypted by Apple
• Stored in your personal iCloud account
• Never accessible to us
• Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy

You can disable iCloud sync at any time through your device settings.

Apple Watch Integration

If you use the Apple Watch companion app, your shopping list data is synchronised between your iPhone and Apple Watch using the WatchConnectivity framework. This data transfer:

• Occurs only between your paired devices
• Is handled by Apple's secure communication protocols
• Is not transmitted to any external servers

Fidelity Cards

The App includes a fidelity card manager that lets you store your loyalty cards digitally. All card data (card name, card number, barcode, and display colour) is stored exclusively on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your personal iCloud account.

• Card data is never transmitted to our servers
• To scan a barcode, the App requests access to your device's camera. Camera access is used solely in the moment of scanning and no images are stored or transmitted
• You can share a fidelity card using the standard iOS sharing mechanism; we do not receive or access any shared data

Siri Shortcuts & App Intents

The App integrates with Apple's App Intents framework to offer Siri Shortcuts. The following actions are available:

• Open Fidelity Card: Ask Siri to open a specific loyalty card directly in the app
• Add Ingredient to Shopping List: Ask Siri to add an ingredient (with optional quantity and unit) to your shopping list

Voice interactions are processed entirely by Apple's Siri infrastructure and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. The App only receives the final structured parameters (card name or ingredient name) from Siri; no audio or voice data is ever accessible to us.

Data Sharing and Export

The App allows you to export and share recipes using our custom .millo file format. When you choose to share or export data:

• You have complete control over what data is shared and with whom
• Data is only shared through the standard iOS sharing mechanism
• We do not receive or access any shared data

Third-Party Services

Millo does not use any advertising or tracking services. With your consent, the App integrates with the following Firebase services provided by Google:

Firebase Analytics

Used to collect anonymous usage statistics when you opt in. Data is processed by Google LLC and subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Collection is fully disabled if you decline or withdraw consent.

Firebase Crashlytics

Used to automatically collect crash reports when the app encounters an unexpected error. This helps us identify and fix stability issues quickly. Crash reports contain technical device information (OS version, app version, stack trace) but no personal data or app content. Crashlytics is also disabled if you decline or withdraw consent.

Both services are enabled only after you explicitly accept the in-app consent prompt. You can opt out at any time via Settings → Analytics & Crash Reports.

Data Security

We take data security seriously:

• All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage mechanisms
• We use SwiftData framework for local data persistence
• iCloud data is encrypted by Apple
• We do not have access to your data

Children's Privacy

Millo does not knowingly collect any information from children. The App is suitable for all ages as it stores all data locally and does not collect personal information.

Your Rights

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your information:

• Access: All your data is accessible within the App
• Modification: You can edit or delete any data at any time
• Deletion: Deleting the App will remove all locally stored data. To delete iCloud data, you must remove it through your iCloud settings
• Export: You can export your recipes using the share functionality

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
